NCAA Basketball Picks: Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks

Washington Huskies has won five straight and eight of its last nine games to take a one-game lead in the Pac-12. Oregon Ducks, which needs a win in order to keep from falling three games back with six games left, shot 32.3 percent from the field and lost 76-60 to Washington on Dec. 31. Leading scorer Devoe Joseph has averaged 18 points over his last nine games, but scored a season-low four points on 1-of-13 shooting in the Ducks’ first game against Washington. The Huskies have won three straight road games, and five of their last seven are on the road.

The Huskies have opened as 1-point favorites on SBG Global Sportsbook’s Live NCAA Basketball Odds.
Washington Huskies (16-7): The Huskies feature three of the top eight scorers in the league in guards Tony Wroten (16.7), Terrence Ross (15.2) and C.J. Wilcox (13.9). Wroten leads all Pac-12 freshmen in scoring, steals and assists, while Ross has scored in double digits in 22 of 23 games. Wilcox came off the bench to score 24 points, including six 3-pointers, in the win over Oregon. The Huskies are 7-1 since inserting forward Desmond Simmons in the lineup eight games ago. Center Aziz N’Diaye averages eight rebounds and Washington leads the Pac-12 in total rebounds at 40.3 per game. Oregon is seventh at 34.3.
Oregon Ducks (16-7): The Ducks dropped into a tie for fourth place in the conference with Arizona after Saturday’s 72-71 loss at Colorado. E.J. Singler has averaged 9.8 points and five rebounds in six career games against the Huskies, and scored a team-high 20 points against Washington earlier this season. Garrett Sim has averaged 7.4 points in eight games against the Huskies, but is only 6-of-27 shooting from the field over his last three games. Oregon ranks fourth in free throw percentage in league play, while Washington is 11th. The Ducks are shooting 86.3 percent from the line in the final five minutes of games decided by less than 10 points.
